I wanted to take some time to talk about new releases, Kindle unlimited finds, and upcoming releases I am excited about (we’ll try to keep that list no more than a month out). I’m honestly pretty excited about this. Every Tuesday my bestie and I have lunch, go for a walk and end up at the bookstore. I always go to https://freshfiction.com/ to find out what’s coming out. Today there are three that caught my immediate interest.
New Releases:
- Onyx Storm, by Rebecca Yarros is the third installment of the Empyrian series. I haven’t read them yet but I need to. I think I am most worried because there is so much hype. Still, the series looks amazing!
- Let’s Call Her Barbie, by Renee Rosen is an interesting historical fiction. Here, we are reimagining the story of Barbie’s creation- from the woman with the idea, Ruth Handler, to the team she amasses. Honestly, this sounds so good!
- My Funny Demon Valentine, by Aurora Ascher begins a five book (?) series that will be coming out in pretty quick succession. Asmodeus is a demon, and a cursed one that that…. who just wants to play music. His brothers and he escape Hell to pursue freedom. Is there anywhere a demon might just be allowed to play? But it’s hard to stay hidden, especially when there’s a woman that can see past his curse.

Interesting books on Kindle Unlimited:
- My Funny Demon Valentine by Aurora Ascher (see above) is on Kindle Unlimited right now. I have to admit though, the paper copy was so pretty I couldn’t pass it up. It’ll be a minute before I get to it, though. For our audiobook fans, there will be a copy on Audible on 1-28-2025.
- A Rivalry of Hearts by Tessonja Odette starts the Fae Flings and Corset Strings series. Edwina Danforth, human romance author, finds herself on a book tour through fae lands and it’s not going well. She’s already made so many blunders! It doesn’t help that the other author on tour, fae author William Haywood, is a gorgeous pain in her…. well, how can she be blamed for accepting a bet? Whoever gets the most lovers wins the publishing contract. She writes romance! How hard could it be? Only, she’s far more experienced in her imagination than real life. If you don’t have KU, this one’s a pretty good deal at $4.99- the audiobook is $7.49.
I am actually starting this one next. I’m pretty excited!
- Her Soul For Revenge by Harley Laroux is the second book in the souls series. I am pretty excited to continue with this series. Here we have Juniper, the sacrifice that escaped. She’s on the run, doing what she has to do to survive while broken over the fact that her brother was not as lucky. Zane, a demon, offers her a deal- her soul for revenge. As the two spend time together, though, it’s her heart that’s in danger.

UPCOMING RELEASES!
- Deep End by Ali Hazelwood comes out next week and I am so excited! I absolutely love her books and this one sounds so good! I’ll drop the summary here.
Scarlett Vandermeer is swimming upstream. A Junior at Stanford and a student-athlete who specializes in platform diving, Scarlett prefers to keep her head down, concentrating on getting into med school and on recovering from the injury that almost ended her career. She has no time for relationships—at least, that’s what she tells herself.
Swim captain, world champion, all-around aquatics golden boy, Lukas Blomqvist thrives on discipline. It’s how he wins gold medals and breaks records: complete focus, with every stroke. On the surface, Lukas and Scarlett have nothing in common. Until a well-guarded secret slips out, and everything changes.
So they start an arrangement. And as the pressure leading to the Olympics heats up, so does their relationship. It was supposed to be just a temporary, mutually satisfying fling. But when staying away from Lukas becomes impossible, Scarlett realizes that her heart might be treading into dangerous water…

That’s me for the week! What books are you interest in?
Happy Reading!
