It’s Tuesday, and that means books are out!
New Releases :
- King Makers, Year Four, Sophie Lark. This is the fourth book in the series. I have not actually started this series, but I am interested. From what I can tell, it’s a school for the children of mafia to learn… well, their trade. I kind of love this idea. As there are four books now, I feel like I can’t take the time for it currently.
- We Could Be Rats, Emily R Austin. This centers around two sisters, Sigrid and Margit. Sigrid is detatched, unwilling to conform and just not interested in adulting really. Margit is trying to understand. As the story continues we will learn more about Sigrid and the trauma she’s been through. It sounds like it’s going to be a great story.
- Yin Yang Love Song, Lauren Kung Jessen. A rom-com filled with chinese traditions, a family curse and fake dating. I am here for this.
- Once Smitten, Twice Shy, Chloe Liese. Once a hopeless romantic, Juliet Wilmot has a chance to revisit romance- purely for practical purposes. The guys she keeps running into, Will, needs to get married for his family business. Juliet is ready to show him the romantic ropes so that Will can woo a wife. What happens, though, when the two realize that their perfect match is one another?
- Reccomended Reading, Paul Coccia. “The Summer of Bobby” as Bobby Ashton is calling his plan for the perfect summer before college, is not off to a good start. He has botched his perfect proposal, embarrassed himself on the internet, Broken school property and lost his dream job. What’s a diva to do? Prepare a comeback! He’s working at his uncle’s shop, handing out reading recommendations and fixing people up. Now if he could just stop thinking about the new cute guy….

Coming Next:
- Under the Same Stars, Libba Bray. A historical fiction from the author of Beauty Queens.
It was said that if you write to the Bridegroom’s Oak, the love of your life will answer back. Now, the tree is giving up its secrets at last.
In 1940s Germany, Sophie is excited to discover a message waiting for her in the Bridegroom’s Oak from a mysterious suitor. Meanwhile, her best friend, Hanna, is sending messages too—but not to find love. As World War II unfolds in their small town of Kleinwald, the oak may hold the key to resistance against the Nazis.
In 1980s West Germany, American teen transplant Jenny feels suffocated by her strict parents and is struggling to fit in. Until she finds herself falling for Lena, a punk-rock girl hell-bent on tearing down the wall separating West Germany from East Germany, and meeting Frau Hermann, a kind old lady with secrets of her own.
In Spring 2020, New York City, best friends Miles and Chloe are in the first weeks of COVID lockdown and hating Zoom school, when an unexpected package from Chloe’s grandmother leads them to investigate a cold case about two unidentified teenagers who went missing under the Bridegroom’s Oak eighty years ago.
This is slated to come out next tuesday (2-4-25), but I actually found it in the store today.
- Deep End, Ali Hazelwood. A competitive diver and an ace swimmer jump into forbidden waters in this steamy college romance from the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis.
I am super excited about this one! I love Ali Hazelwood’s other books.

Next, I want to switch it up. I present to you: Things I bought today (and probably shouldn’t have) Bookish Edition.

To be honest, the only one I am even remotely embarrassed about is the graphic audio. I already borrowed the eBook from Kindle Unlimited and had bought the regular audio (I like to follow along and check things in the eBook)… but it’s a full cast dramatic reading! Even if it is cut into two audiobooks, how could I not?
So that’s me for the week. What’s caught your eye?
Happy Reading! See you next time!
